  • Practice Information
    Practices are typically held Monday-Friday, with each team practicing twice a week in the gym. Practices are usually 1.5 hours between 6-9pm. The gyms we currently use are JCC in Los Gatos, Leland HS, Union MS, Dartmouth MS, Occasionally, we also practice San Jose City College, Ohlone Middle School, Hoover Middle School and a couple of others in San Jose.
  • Refund Policy
    Once you commit to a team, deposits and season stipends are non-refundable.
  • Who Can Play AAU Basketball?
    AAU Basketball is an option for boys and girls. For boys, they can start playing in the 7 and under age group and can compete up until the 12th grade or 19 and under division. For girls, they can start playing when they are in the 2nd grade and can compete up until the 12th grade or 19 and under division. Generally, we work with kids in grades 3-12.
  • Season Information
    Seasons will typically run from: MS & HS Spring/Summer: March-end of July MS Fall/Winter: September-January HS Fall: September-end of October
  • Tryout Information
    We hold tryouts 4 times a year: Mid February for Spring Early June for Summer End of August for Fall End of October for Winter
  • Do You Offer Referral Rewards?
    We award $100 toward your season stipend to every family that refers another player that receives an invite to join our program and accepts.
  • Tournaments
    Each season will have a minimum of 7 tournaments depending on which team your athlete is picked to be on. Each tournament will have a minimum of 3 games per weekend, possibly 4.
  • Do Teams Travel?
    All of our elite teams travel during Live Period, which is the evaluation period when college coaches can watch an athlete compete in person or visit their school. Athletes may travel to Southern California, Arizona, Las Vegas, etc. Live Period only takes place during the Spring and Summer. These teams may travel occasionally to another city within reasonable driving distance, but they mostly play local events. Our elite teams do travel when necessary for recruitment or competition purposes outside of Live Period. This occasionally requires hotel stays, and every once in a while, a plane flight as well. Non-elite teams, especially the elementary and middle school teams typically do not require long distance traveling for tournaments, unless the team collectively decides to participate in tournaments out of the area.
  • Do We Have Girls Teams?
    At the moment we do not have any girls teams, however our goal is to attain and develop teams that consists of female athletes.
  • What is AAU?
    The Amateur Athletic Union is a youth sports organization. AAU teams consist of groups of players that get together and form independent teams that compete in AAU tournaments against other teams.
  • Is It Too Late To Join? Why Is Your "Join" Button Not Working?
    If our "Join" button is inactive, this means our tryouts have concluded. However, if you are still interested in joining, please reach out to our Program Coordinator directly southbaysnipers@gmail.com to discuss options.
  • Coaches
    All of the South Bay Snipers coaches are hand picked by SBS directors based on very specific criteria. Directors and coaches must pass background checks and must abide by strict SBS standards. Our coaches are here to provide a supportive and encouraging environment, and they will work closely with your child to help them build confidence and develop their skills.
  • Season Stipend/Payment Plans

A full uniform & backpack Tournament fees Practice gym fees Coach fees This does not cover travel costs for tournaments Payment plans are offered for each season and can be discussed with our program coordinator.
